JOSHUAS HABIT BIOGRAPHY 2009
Joshua’s Habit are excited to present ‘Torn’ their fantastic follow up to 2007s ‘Wash the Filth’. The four-piece modern rock band have an entertaining and energetic live show, which has solidified their reputation in Western Canada. With the release of ‘Torn’ the Habit are poised to build upon their growing popularity nation-wide, and internationally. The Calgary band has gained extensive radio play, fusing their old school rock spirit with a vigorous modern rock sound.
A testament to the strength of their material, and work ethic on stage, Joshua’s Habit recently won the $100,000 grand prize for the Vibe 98.5 Star Search Competition. The money, awarded to the band after a series of live performances, was used to fund recording for the new album, as well as the production of an entertaining video for their lead single, ‘Whiskey and Women’. The video, shot at an air hangar, features the same combination of good times, sex appeal and hard driving rock that inspires the band’s songwriting. Look for this video to follow in the footsteps of ‘Drama Queen’, their last video, which received medium rotation on Much Loud.
Much of the new album was recorded live off the floor, a decision that helped the band capture the energy and chemistry they take with them to the stage. The Habit plans to take that energy on the road, so expect extensive touring in support of ‘Torn’. Ripping guitars, pounding drums, driving bass, and emotional yet powerful vocals create an impactful live experience, and the band have shared the stage with such acts as the Trews, State of Shock, Drowning Pool, Skid Row and Collective Soul, gaining many a fan along the way.
With their ever expanding fan base, intense stagemanship, strong new album, and major label buzz, expect to be seeing more of Joshua’s Habit throughout 2009 and beyond.
